Reflections continued many of the themes that had quietly woven their way through Marcy from the very beginning.

Presence.

Playfulness.

Vulnerability.

Intuition.

The handmade.

The beauty of slowing down.

Bringing together artists whose practices felt deeply personal and sincere, the exhibition became a reflection not only on the works themselves, but on the kind of creative culture I wanted Marcy to embody.

People often ask how I choose the artists for the exhibitions. Of course, I'm drawn to work that moves me. But over time, I realised something else mattered just as much: the people.

The older Marcy became, the more important it felt to collaborate with artists who genuinely wanted to be there.

People who were generous. Curious. Kind. Who believed, as I did, that meaningful collaboration begins with mutual respect.

I have never been particularly interested in the mythology of the difficult artist.

Nor have I been interested in creating exhibitions that explain everything.

I've always trusted that people bring their own stories, memories, and emotional landscapes into a room.

Sometimes that is enough.

Sometimes art doesn't ask to be understood immediately, it asks us to stay with it. To notice what it awakens.

Reflections wasn't only about contemplation. It was about trust. Trust in the artists. Trust in the audience. Trust that meaningful experiences don't always need to be interpreted before they can be felt.
